Check out "Familiar Child", I recorded it with an acoustic guitar all around, the bass, the distortion, everything.  The magic of garageband.  Oh, yeah, and I did the organ on a Yamaha keyboard hooked up to the computer.  The drums are Garageband, though.  I've yet to find a good way to record drums, nor a decent electronic one (mine is crap...).

What do you think?  I've been recording with my shoddy equipment for a while, so I got used to it and it sounds alright, I think.
