I have to say, the Zhivago's Vintage Hotties threads are the best things on this forum. Just fantastic.

Got an Olympic white JM with dark tort pickguard and B&B? Not pristine white though, aged white finish. That's my ideal JM.

I'd say it's a finger rest on J-basses pre 73 (when they started to screw it on the bass side).  ;)
