Aside from the aforementioned over-use of the "mother" moniker for the series, this sounds fantastic. I didn't realize that it was only available as DIY before now. It's probably more than I want to spend on a drum machine, but still cool. Kinda wish they'd put the patch bay stuff at the top like the Grandmother, but that's not a big deal.

looks pretty cool. How's the sequencer? Can it do Poly rhythms?

Re: Moog DFAM
No idea personally. Don't have one, but I'm looking for something drum related, and one I'm considering...

Re: Moog DFAM
Looks cool, but no MIDI and an 8 step sequencer are pretty huge blows for me. Apparently you can get over that by just hooking it to a dirt cheap KORG SQ-1 though.
From what I read, it looks like you need to hook it up with different modular synths in order to get the most out of it, and is more like a synth with some percussive qualities than an actual drum machine too. All that said, I want one of these now.

I agree. The more I listen to it, the more I like it, but also the more I think I wouldn't buy it to be a drum machine. Rhythm synth, maybe. That's the problem with Moog's video: they sound gorgeous, but they're more like listening to a song/performance, than a demo.
