Grizzly's Ukulele Kits... Any good?

Post by Poop » Sun Jul 19, 2009 3:48 pm

(Not sure if this belongs here or under the build section.)

So, Grizzly sells a build-it-yourself ukulele kit that's on sale right now for $22.95. At that price, I'm not expecting a uke that's amazing to behold or anything. I really like the idea of being able to build it myself and not have to bend the sides or anything like that. Anyone have any experience with these kits? If so, your thoughts?
They're quite a bit cheaper than Stew-Mac's $99.99 kit which I am sure is probably worth every penny.

I bought one for an art piece project (painting like a canvas), not so much to make it play correctly -- which I don't have the patience for, or the tools really. I doubt it would be that great anyway. But they are cheap enough to buy multiples if you do screw something up.
