NOMD (New Old Moog Day!)

Post by chrisjedijane » Fri Jan 08, 2010 2:50 am

So it looks like I may be getting a Moog Prodigy tomorrow! The guy is bringing it to work tomorrow for me to check it out, and if everything's 100% I'll take it. I was going to go for a Little Phatty, but I'd prefer a vintage one over a LP any day (even though the LP is more stable, has presets etc.).

Any other Prodigy users out there?

I'd probably prefer an old one over a LP too, not for archaic reasons but that you don't have to flip buttons for the potentiometer functions. On the other hand with the old one you have to get a MIDI/CV converter if you want MIDI.

Yeah, I don't use MIDI for anything so that's not a problem.

Having all the dials immediately visible is the major advantage for me. I'll just have to write all my presets down :)

I wish! I've been obsessing over analogue synths for the last few weeks.

Best of luck with your Moog :?
There is no problem so bad that you can't make it worse.

the prodigy is a great board and the tuning is quite reliable compared to most vintage moogs. It doesn't have a wealth o modulation possibilities but its really got a great sound. Awesome score!
