sounds like the delay is coming from the guitar which is playing the same thingmezcalhead wrote:http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=89mOUDR6zs4Killamangiro* wrote: why aren't there clips on youtube of people using it with effect chains?
i want to know if you could make it accually sound more theremin like if you use it with a delay and chorus
Bowie, using it with delay at least (at the end of the track).

Yeah I read that at Amoeba music in Berkeley... he bought like 3 of them and used them all for one of his albums.Ian wrote: Eno used to use one a bunch, didn't he?
They sell them there for (I think) 26-30$.

I have one of the re-issues and its pretty fun. Really sharp sounding through an amp but it can be dulled down a bit with the help of some reverb and a small amount of delay. Definitely a fun toy and with a little practice it can be a usable instrument

Re: Stylophone thread
I have mine hooked up to Guitar Rig with a bunch of it's own presets ready to fly. I find with a bit of processing the lowest of the 3 settings is quite a nice foil for panning hard left/hard right, slight delay, with a dark, dubby bass. A bit like 'Myxamatosis' from Hail To The Thief. Or just straight double it.
Also good for drones.

Re: Stylophone thread
Pulp used one all the time. Notably on Styloroc, funnily enough

Used to love seeing them use it live - always sounded amazing. We all made them in our school technology class.

Re: Stylophone thread
ahhh the stylophone !
dont get me started ...
i have 3 of the things - currently all broken
after years of abuse ... incuding the big ol' french-built ( ? ) one with the photo resistor theremin controls on it and 2 stylii ! ... it never worked but it's all there.
i used to use the little ones thru an echolette and/or deluxe memory man and into my boogie
i once played one thru a big old valve Leslie from a B3 organ in a studio ... huuuge sound and when you have that much gain on them you can sing into the tiny speaker and it works like a distorto microphone ... those were the days ...
or i'd sit it on the travis bean strings and let the sound filter down thru the pickups with heaps of gain on some stomp boxes ... and play a little tune
good clean fun, but you tell that to kids these days ... i dunno
AP

i'll miss the system here ... the bottom's low and the treble's clear
