Re: Drum Machines......
Thats no longer available.
I just got leaf drum and a shit load of samples (ns_kit7 )and I'm trying to find a key tap type program,do they exist?fuck knows!
Sadly I'm a stringed musician not a drummer otherwise id just buy a drum kit. This is all unknown territory for me as i live in the past with analog recorders and effects, digital anything is a nightmare to me.But i MUST conquer this shit cause it offers convenience.

Re: Drum Machines......
I couldn't imagine... I cant even remember what a tape looks like. I definately couldn't do what I do with analog equipment. there used to be tons of freeware programs for producing tecno but nothing is free on the net anymore it seems.

Re: Drum Machines......
I scoured the net a while back looking for a freeware drum machine program... the vast majority of what I found were drum sample programs that you needed a separate sequencer for. I did find one that seemed okay for pretty basic electronic-type stuff, called Minimal (which is quite appropriate). It's in VST format, I'm not positive but I think it should be compatible with Kristal. It's not the most flexible program, but it could be helpful to you. The only sounds available are kick, snare, hi-hat, and also a bass line module that doesn't make much sense to me. The drum sounds are synthesized, so I hope you're not looking for anything incredibly real sounding.

depending on your OS, I believe propellerheads ReBirth is now shareware. checkout www.propellerheads.se
I prefer their older stuff.

I've been playing with this a bit lately. It's free as in beer and free as in you can access the source code. They have builds for windows and OSx but I haven't tried them. I've only used it on Linux.

i know, i know, and they dont even come close to telling you how to work it. My friend and i did about a 20 hour day learning it, but after that we were golden!corona wrote: Ok, thanks aen,I'm trying rebirth too,its a headfuck to get though,Had to register twice, install a torrent, burn the image to rom then finally install rebirth.DAMN!

I downloaded Hydrogen too,its ok but i haven't spent any time on it yet.
I finally got Rebirth installed, the sound quality is excellent but I'm not looking forward to working it out at all.
So far all I've done is messed with some groove techno beats,a far cry from a drum kit but I'll work it out eventually.
Thanks for this one Aen,its sick!

It's made for Linux but they have versions for OSX and Windows as well, but I think those are betas (or not even that, just development snapshots).corona wrote: I been messin with Hydrogen and ist god damn cool, only i keep getting (Not Responding) on the top of the screen. Is hydrogen for PC or not cause it seems to fuck up every time i use it.

Re: Drum Machines......
if you get Deamon Tools you won´t have to burn images anymore. it´s a virtual CD/DVD drive that can open .cue/.bin files.corona wrote: Ok, thanks aen,I'm trying rebirth too,its a headfuck to get though,Had to register twice, install a torrent, burn the image to rom then finally install rebirth.DAMN!
