Interesting. So plugging in regular 1/4" yields no results?

It physically will not fit.  Too big.

I can see why this would be inconvenient, but there were probably some very good reasons for using different connectors.  Are these CV inputs?

I remember reading something in my moogerfooger manuals about how you could could short out the CV by inserting an incorrectly wired 1/4 inch in the expression pedal jacks.  Not at home right now so can't check the particulars, but if you have a schem you might be able to see why this was done.  Probably worth checking before plugging the correct size connector in.

check page 12 on this moogefooger manual

Not really very familiar with CV, and not particularly competent with electronics either so iit may not be a problem, but thought i would just give a heads up in case

It's always nice to find an 'off the beaten path'  specialist supplier. Good work.

That is exactly why it was done that way.  But it's still an inconvenience!  ;D
To prevent confusion of the external foot switch cords with input and output audio and control voltage cords, the jacks for DECAY and GLIDE are 0.206" dia. instead of 0.250" dia. The jacks mate with Switchcraft S-260 plugs instead of ordinary 1/4" phone plugs

This reminds me of the Apple "Pro" Speakers that had a special plug that only worked with the G4 iMac. Good thing you fixed it though.
