After he left NL to return to Scotland he's been building harps for a living. He seems to be quite skilled, to say the least...

Awesome. I remember back when I was 10 or so we had this teacher who for some reason made everyone build their own harp. Never learned to play though, and I can't remember what happened to the one I made.

Awesome.  You should beg him to do you a carved JM body, with all sorts of esoteric Magick symbols, it would either look amazing or open a portal to hell!  8)
