and the teenage engineering op-1 was making some nice sounds (though still not complete, what they have now shows very good taste and direction in synthesis).

And the OP-1 looks great! I remember reading about it a while ago, did you find out why it's taken so long?

i didn't ask them that... i was chatting with the dsp coder (that's what i do as well). he seemed pretty on top of things, and definitely wants to get more stuff in there before release...

they weren't even talking release date though... i'd expect next summer or fall.

I can't wait for the OP-1. I don't know how useful it will be in making actual music, but it sure looks fun.

the livewire AFG is ultra-nice. i have mine for nearly two years now and it became the main oscillator in my system.

is there any news on livewire on the namm? are they producing regularly now again?

for some reason i expected you to say that.

i talked to the guy that does livewire - he was showing new stuff... i didn't know he wasn't shipping for a while.

this was his new item (not sure why he was missing knobs)



one comment about the OP-1. i got the impression that they were trying to limit any synth algorithm to be controlled by the 4 knobs. so the synth may be too influenced by the HUI designers. also, someone at the booth mentioned a price around $800.

also cool - there is the new dave smith mopho keyboard (picture from some other blog). i forgot to ask the price...

Jay had to watch me geeking out with the makenoise guy for way too long. he's got some great ideas though, i LOVE the new pressure points programmer. i've been waiting for touch panel programmers (BESIDES the serge TKB!) for a while.

the 4ms divider looks great too, plus it has rainbow leds!

i'm also super excited about the akai iphone keyboard controller, there's lots of cool small stuff out there and TONS of great eurorack...

did anyone notice the software companies where playing it really quiet this time? propellerheads didn't even have a booth and they just came out with record!
