My son wants to learn to play drums (egads).
Space is tight and an electric set is needed to control noise levels.
I've been looking at the Traps E400 set (online) and was wondering if anyone here has had any contact or experience with the set.
Thanks.

Have you considered either the Tama Stagestar set, or a Gretsch Catalina club kit with a mute kit? The bass drums are 18 inches and if you faced them towards the wall they don't take up much room. I'd recomend the Gretsch kit, I have the Tama Stagestar set and you have to replace the snare, the throne, cymbals, and heads to get a decent kit. The Gretsch is a bit more and you have to buy the hardware and cymbals and  stuff seperately, but it's worth it in the long run as they have a higher resale value. You can buy the mutes on Ebay.
I only recommend them over electric kits cause most electric kits are lame. The only electric kit that I have seen that was any good is the Roland V-tour for 2 grand. If your son ever wants to play in a band he'll have to get a decent monitor system to use. Where as with a real kit, all he has to do is remove the mutes.
