Guy must really love his wife!
I think the appraisal was a little low.
Thing looked beautiful.

Beautiful guitar!

I have one in the same color and year ('62 Oly white, even with the slab board like this one), pretty rare to find the slab + matching headstock. This one is in nicer shape than mine.

Way off on the price though. Even the $9K that the seller wanted is below retail on a custom color '62. With the market where it is, definitely over five figures.

I assume the expert appraisals are always low so as to collude with the store which obviously wants to pay as little as possible.

Then again, the whole show is probably fake.

Easily a $12k-$15k guitar in today’s market, That guy got hosed. He could have listed it online and sold it in less than a day for way more than he got. A vintage guitar dealer would have given him more than a pawn shop lol.

Yeah, I always wonder when I see stuff like this why they sell at a low ball to a pawn shop. Leads me to believe it's not real but who knows. What a nice guitar though, I'd love to won something like that. What foresight form the guy as well to look after it so well, for so long.
