Need info on Robert Smiths Teisco
I finally have some of the parts but I also need some parts and where to get them. I also would like to know the story behind the guitar, if anyone has info on his guitar or on parts for it, it would be much appreciated
Flatwounds are for psychopaths, or people that play jazz or want a duller tone

It's a Woolworths Top 20, made by Teisco, and there's a take-apart video of one here:

The story IIRC is that he was encouraged to buy a "better" guitar (the jazzmaster) for their early recordings, but wanted to keep the Teisco's pickup. I think that's all documented elsewhere. My friend got some of that story in the green room from Robert Smith when my friend was in the support act for the Cure's second tour downunder in 1981, as we were intrigued by the 3 pickup jazzmaster.
I don't know the story of the "buzzstop"-like bar, or if it is known. But we have discussed some homemade versions around here for people wanting to create replica guitars. That type of approach to "fixing" offset guitars dates from a time when guitar techs didn't understand how to set them up properly. So add it if you want a replica, not because the guitar needs it.
