Nah, just sand the edges down until it's flat.

Tell us EVERYTHING.

SHOW us everything!!! :w00t:
I WILL.

I’ll create a thread on its restoration
If those carves are going to be filled with bondo then I'd prefer to see it stay the way it is :D :D

They are not.

Seen on facebook... Inverted German carve anyone? (It's a 61)

Image
This actually hurts my eyes, like some MC Escher thing.

Although, if someone were inclined, could probably make a nice chambered body with a cool spalted maple veneer. Shave off 1/2", put a top on, etc.

Not the craziest resto, and hey, it would be light. I'd pay a few grand for that guitar and do the project without question if it was local and I could check it out in person to make sure my insane idea would actually work and that everything else (neck, hardware, bridge pickup, at least...) was original.

I didn't realise you would actually go ahead and do this.

Wait, doesn't this one have its own thread now? Soon to be restored!

No problem cleaning dust out of those craters, unlike with chambered thinlines.

Fellas, I like it. It has a Cigar Afficionado look to it. I could see myself lighting up an Oliva G Cameroon or a Partagás Black and ashing on the carve .... (At least in my mind. I'm not one to ruin guitars. Especially an instrument as expensive as this one must be.)
It be better if it would be on the back. The smoking offset! Yeah. ;D

According to the description: “At some point someone tried to do something with the neck pocket.”
