It's so cool to see these vintage beauties here and hear a bit about how they came into the possession of the current owners. Incredibly jaguar you've got here, I won't be sad if you keep sharing additional photos of it. Great find.
Here's a shot under the control plate showing the tan lines. Per the OTM XII SxS shot, it's aged a bit, but not very much.
Oh, there's lots of finish checking. It's just very fine and tough to capture. Here's a good shot from the tummy cut. Also, this is the photo that best captures the color the guitar looks like IRL.JamesSGBrown wrote: ↑Sun Oct 08, 2023 1:56 amPossible a silly question- how come there's like 0 finish checking? Given that metallic finishes are highly prone to it...

Im looking at the XII "which is fukin gorgeous" And im seeing what looks more like a LPB that has aged/greened a bitsmjenkins wrote: ↑Thu Sep 28, 2023 8:25 pmSo, I think you folks might be right. I now believe this is OTM. I had a chance to get access to a vintage OTM guitar, an XII, and I took a photo with my Jag. It sure seems like these are the same color. I'm not sure why / how RobbyZ thought this was TGM, but based on the WSG strat pics above and seeing another OTM guitar, I'm pretty sure this is confirmation.

It would be incredibly unwise to alter the guitar. You'd never match the paint. You'd do much more harm and monetary destruction. It's perfect as is.letterstoboddah wrote: ↑Tue Oct 17, 2023 9:24 amthis is such a beautiful guitar you are very lucky to own it! i have never seen this unusual color before
will you fix the paint?
i see. okay that makes some sense. i suppose it would lower the value as well. i like that it shows its age anywayN0_Camping4U wrote: ↑Thu Oct 19, 2023 5:24 pmIt would be incredibly unwise to alter the guitar.
