Cloudy days make for great photography.
The cool thing about fretless is you can hit a note...and then renegotiate.

Oh man, I didn't believe it when Jonesie told me, but it's true.

So glad to see this one back.. As much as I've always admired your "one in, one out" philosophy (and seen it paid off in spades with some LOVELY instruments), it's nice to see the family reunited. And you certainly can't argue with the stuff you have.

Now, go start another band!

It looks like I'm going to Australia with TSP in February so we'll have to get together another time... perhaps in the summer!

Ha! I knew it! When you started down the zVex path I just knew there'd be a JM post sooner or later. Glad it's the '61. All the best sounding JMs that I've played have been '61s. I missed out on a great one and the '63 I have was picked because it was closest to that neck feel over all the others that I tried. Plus, my Tele is a '61, the Jag is a '62, so the JM would have to be a '63 or a '60...

That's really really nice. Along with the Les Paul thats pretty much a dream paring.

I envy the sparse gear collction, I wish I had the self control to have fewer guitars.

I was hoping it would be that guitar when I opened the thread. 8)

I remember when it was posted for sale. If I had the money at the time you'd have had to come to Australia to get it back. ;D

Thanks guys!

I was really fortunate to be given the chance to buy it back.

There have been a handful of things from the past that I regretted selling (Zvex stuff being up there too), so now that I am in the position to pick a few things up again I am taking full advantage. 8)

Congratulations Zhivago! I'm so glad you got her back!

Years ago I foolishly traded my first vintage guitar at the guitar store I work for an old Gretsch but regretted it quite soon afterwards. It was the '64 refin Jaguar that was also the reason I joined OSG. After a year the Jaguar still wasn't sold so I managed to undo the trade. It's been with me ever since and I decided to keep it even while I don't play it as much as my Jazzmaster and Ric 12. I remember your '61 from the early OSG days and am glad it's back home :)

Was that the guitar that was featured on the cover of the "edition" of Offset Guitar magazine ?

That's the main reason why I made you wait a few weeks before making a decision ...
I judge guitars by how they feel unplugged, and this one was so light and resonant ... Awesome old wood. :-*

Oh, where was that ?
And ... Koch combo, right ? Studiotone or Twintone ...

Oh really ? ... ;D

I did not know fullerplast once owned it ... Small world, as I'm about to rewire my CIJ Jazzy with a fullerplast-made harness (and AV65 pickups).
If all goes according to plan, my electric testbed/backup JM will be promoted back to the #1 offset position. If not ...

Ok, the plan has to work then ! :D
