Totally pointless. The Jazzmaster already has killer upper fret access for shredding, and getting rid of the offset waist kills the look. This comes from a guy who regularly does 22nd fret high F# bends on a Jazzmaster (albeit a custom one). The body needs no alteration to be good for that sort of thing. Whever did that was just being stupid and trying to make his guitar look mor e"Generic".

There's alot going on there! That single coil right by the neck is the worst part; I'm thinking it will make the neck a little unstable.

It says water damage in the seller's description. Whether it was through simple neglect or something else...

Body has been edged all around and refinished, back of neck was oversprayed, dots replaced against brass-dots, new bridge and neckplate, otherwise original.
