Pickguard for 1965 Jaguar

Post by Frenia » Sat Mar 02, 2019 10:45 pm

Hello,
I picked up an original 1965 Jaguar but it needs a pickguard. I purchased a fender “vintage” guard but it is off by a bit. I was wondering about a source for one to fit an original guitar?

Thanks

The vintage one probably shrunk? Maybe get a spitfire?

Check spitfire yeah. Does it matter to you if it’s vintage or not?

The original pickguards are almost always shrunken or warped to some degree, though the reproductions made for USA guitars should be pretty darn close.

Did you get an old pickguard, or a new one meant to fit a USA guitar?

Same thing happened to me on a 65 Jazzmaster, I ended up buying a repro since the vintage part had shrunked by nearly 1/8 inch.
