NGD: 1964 Jazzmaster
Well that was a looong two week wait, but this finally arrived today...
I probably haven't played a Jazzmaster since I sold my AVRI 15 years ago, but I always planned to get a vintage one some day.
I really like the spaghetti logo matching headstock, and the B neck profile feels just right to me.
Only problem is that I left my Bandmaster in storage with my in-laws back in Belgium, so I might need to get a somewhat decent practice amp (Pro Jr? used Princeton Reverb?).
Also wondering what I should do about the rust on some of the screws, tuners and bridge saddles. Keep it as it is or try to clean it up a little? (avoid it getting worse?)

That’s awesome. Kept its colour tone really well. Enjoy!

Ps. I’d leave the saddle screws unless you really need to clean them

Very nice indeed! Very impressive. Staytrem it ASAP and store the original bridge in the case. Best thing you can do for an offset I think, I put one on my '64 and all the rattle has gone. Tuning stability is perfect now with the tremolo.
Leave all the rest as is,
Enjoy!

^^I agree, thats what I have done on my 61 and 62. The only 'mod' I'd do.
Awesome guitar! That one looks like a keeper.

Re: NGD: 1964 Jazzmaster
Thanks all!
The guitar did come with a Mustang bridge included in the case, which is also what I had on my AVRI.
Not sure about the tuning stability, but I don't plan to gig with this one, and the rusty original bridge doesn't seem to rattle, so I might just keep it in for a while?
Staytrem bridge? Staytrem tremolo? Both?

Around 3.7 kg or 8 lbs. Feels about right to me.

Sure but I put a Bridge and arm/collet combo on mine and it's never played or sounded better. The bridge is easy to drop in and the string spacing is much better than the Mustang bridge.hverlind wrote: ↑Mon Apr 20, 2020 10:59 pmThanks all!
