Yamaha SG3 logo
I've owned a yamaga sg3 with a non original neck for just over a year, and have managed to find and buy an original neck. The only downside is that the neck i've found has had the front of the headstock stripped and i intend to attempt to recreate the script logo . Would anyone have a hi res picture of a yamaha sg3 logo (script font ideally) or would any yam owners be willing to take one for me with a ruler for reference? or even better point me in the direction of where i might find a decal online

Re: Yamaha SG3 logo
i remember our forumite theworkoffire made at least one from a photo i sent him some years back. i think he did a few restorations back then, perhaps he has some spares. hopefully he's still around - haven't seen him post recently.
same script logo - that's my favorite. it seemed to me that it was the earliest logo, but i also saw the block letters (kind of spaced out Y A M A H A ) on an early one too.
good luck! what color body do you have?

I did wonder about where the crossover is with the logo variations, i was half torn between script and the blocky logos just because i weirdly love how ugly the blocky ones are haha. in the end i thought since the neck i have coming dates to 66 i'd go with the script.
It's a sunburst here's some pics https://imgur.com/a/b0g5kDD
Thank you very much for your help!

Re: Yamaha SG3 logo
I had Rothko and Frost make me some script Yamaha SG logos earlier this year - I'm sure they still have the art work. I sent them very detailed photos and measurements. The decals were very nice, and ran about $35 with shipping from UK. Simon was the guy I dealt with.

Re: Yamaha SG3 logo
I love it - it's a 50 year old refin over the sunburst, I was all for stripping it but someone did it with love and care. The finish is a bit orange peeled but the original burst is protected beneath ...
