Offsets reporting for duty

Post by Tele295 » Tue Apr 21, 2020 1:09 pm

Quarantine has allowed me some time for home recording, but the wife is working from home, so it must be out of earshot. That’s right, I’m stuck in the cluttered garage. I made a table with 2 folding chairs and a Jazzmaster case. With the exception of one little vocal part, everything is going direct.

I’ve done several tracks with my L-Series Bass VI. I usually prefer Danelectros for 6SB studio sounds, but the VI is really nailing it.

I was struggling to get the right sound on a song with my Gretsch, but it was too thick sounding, so I gave the Jazzmaster (also an L-series with a recent refret) a try. Bazinga! The Hello Kitty thin pick was an essential part, too.

Great looking instruments. I've messed around with Bass VI's before but just recently got my own custom built Bass VI in LPB (pics in a topic posted recently) and I absolutely love it. Been playing the crap out of it. They're really versatile. Do you have flats on your Bass VI?

Funny you mention Danelectro Bass VI... I want to get a Jerry Jones Bass VI too (high quality Danelectro reissues). But do you really need TWO Bass VI's?... I think the answer is yes :)

I have Fender rounds on there, no flats.

Do you need TWO Bass VI’s? Well, one with rounds and another with flats?
