Offset, set-neck vintage Hagström prototype?

Post by Ceylon » Thu Jul 02, 2020 2:03 am

This popped up for sale at a classifieds in Sweden for a steal, but the seller has since been notified that his asking price was too low and been advised to try and find out more about the guitar. This looks like the guts of a Hagstrom III on an offset body with a set or maybe even through-neck construction. I can find nothing on these anywhere, and the switch setup kind of leads me to believe it might be some kind of prototype. Can anyone shed a bit more light on this?

If nothing else, it's an interesting look at what Hagström's Jaguar could have looked like.

Apparently, this was a production model after all, the Corvette Automatic, though only 199 were ever made.

nice looking guitar

Interseting neck join.

The switching may be similiar to a Hagstrom SIII just reorganised to fit the pick guard.
