Premier Multivox E-781

Is this offset enough? It doesn't seem to have been discussed here before:

It's a sort of mishmash of American/Italian/Japanese parts.

It certainly seems to have been jazzmastered from the earlier design:

Oh! That's what they are. I've seen Mark Sandman of Morphine play one of those basses but never had any idea what they were.

Cool instruments for sure. Maybe not really offsets though.

Cool mandolin-style body. Surprised Eastwood isn't making a crappy version with a jaguar trem and p-90s

These are super cool ! The first one seems to be sporting a Hofner 173 neck.
Check out my band, The Atavists ! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eG-HZtrljMg

Is it? I had a quick look around and didn't see any where they ran out of steam on the fret inlays like that...usually they go all the way up to the 21st, but hofner were fond of mixing things up

I'd think it was the other way around actually - The neck on these were probably the last part that was still made in the USA. Premier had that double dot design from their first solidbody in the late 1950s (they're aluminium dots on the early ones) and Sorkin music who owned Premier were the US distributor of Hofner so it's possibly where Hofner got the design from. This one has a neck made in Holland (presumably by Egmond) so I suppose anything is possible:

I personally would guess that this is one of the last ones made and not from 1966 (they were still in the catalog in 1970) but there is very little information to go on.

I haven't played one of these later ones I'd guess it was vaguely in the direction of a Jaguar. This one probably sounds better because of the bowling ball finish:

These are really cool. There are a couple of YouTube videos of them - they have a Strat-y sort of sound. Personally, I think they sell for a bit too much money for me to want to pick one up - but Premier made some excellent stuff under a lot of badge names back in the day. Worth scouting out an obscure badge one if you can find it!

The first one and the subsequent red pearloid one look Italian made. The second one, I'd wager was made by Vega.
