I've seen that ad - and fell in love that guitar that very day! (also like the scientific approve of their quality)
Might recreate it one day (in another body colour as I already have enough sunburst guitars)

What do you all say about the slanted pickup? does it really change much of the tone?

About the remaining of the NAMM-custom shop recreation - there was an add on Reverb within the last 16 months or so - could have been either of the two - listed for about 11,000,- but I didn't find it to check.

Not meaning to go off topic too much but have you see the relatively new book on EKO, written by Remo Serrangeli. Released a few years ago it was originally printed in Italian but there's an English translation either on the way or out already.

Interesting, no I haven't...but there is almost no guitar book I won't check out (apart from some of the endless Les Paul Burst books that get a bit tiresome..). Will check out the EKO book, especially if an English version is printed. Guitar books could be a whole separate thread!

Thanks for the info about the CS replica

It doesn't say it is a hollowbody like the original ... but it was a bit more affordable




Disappointed I didnt know about it being up for sale.

The angled bridge pickup on this is really cool, it suits it so much I almost didn't notice - whereas if other manufacturers go for the three single coils, bridge one angled thing on an original design I feel like it ruins it by being too obviously a Fender rip

I actually think it'd look a whole lot cleaner without the mute - more evenly spaced (but that's just me).

It definitely „needs“ that Bridge cover!

It's so cool to see this thing finally appear in the wild. I saw it in a library book a very long time ago.
I wonder if it was a planned update that never happened, due to poor sales of the base model?
It says the pickups are special, which may be one of the hundreds of experiments Fender himself had tinkered with. Could just be the bridge
bridge pickup alone, but it looks like the poles are a larger diameter than standard.
He spent a lot of time working on pickup configurations.

Only other onformation is that it has been a private collection for the last 10-15 years.

Fender should buy it back and get to work on an actual Jaguar Deluxe model.
Jags still don't sell well, I'm guessing, since they keep discontinuing all the Jaguar models, so thats unlikely to happen.
