New member! Quick question about knobs

Hey everyone.

Great forum. Amazing guitars from everyone.

I have a question for the early JM guys. I need Volume and Tone knobs (strat style)for the solid shaft pots.

Ive missed a few on ebay here or there. Thinking of just drilling a splined knob a hair under the size of the solid shaft, and then heating the shaft slightly and pressing it on

Any tips or other ideas are appreciated!

I don't know if I've ever seen solid shaft strat knobs. They're usually the splined press-on type.

I have a 59 jazzmaster. Original Solid shaft. The knobs were just pushed on

It's possible that they drilled the knob holes to enlarge them slightly so they could use the solid pots? Idk, as far as I know if it originally had strat knobs on it it probably was supposed to have split post pots. I just did some quick Googling and I can't find or think of anyone that sells solid shaft strat style knobs, but maybe someone here has a source.
