"Vintage" '66 JM on Reverb

"We upgraded a few of the key items on this Jazzmaster and it absolutely SCREAMS."

Screams for help that is. :fp:

I can't believe anyone would pay that much for a butchered refin without the original pickups and pickguard.

If there ever was a vintage guitar for me, that is it.... but not for that price...

God, this guy.

"Vintage Correct Parts" but with deliberately installed, definitely not vintage correct mods on this thing.

He sold me a late 80s CIJ Custom Telecaster a couple years back, in lake placid blue, double bound, and when I got it it was in desperate need of a refret :fp: Not mentioned anywhere in his listing. I had to file an eBay dispute to get the return processed and talk to customer service on the phone multiple times, the guy was not happy and not budging on processing the return. It finally happened, but it was like pulling teeth.

This thing would be cool if it had WRHBs, hard pass on it right now though. $5k is a fucking joke too.

That dude just buys guitars with valuable guts, parts them out, and adds in Seymour Duncan Antiquities or whatever where PAFs or early Patent Number pickups used to be. He'll also rob guitars of their plastics if they share a use on more "desirable" guitars. Then he'll patch em back up and charge top dollar! :fp:

aka he rips apart cool ES guitars so people with reissue / conversion Les Pauls can put the real electronics and hardware on them.

People lusting after flipping '59 Les Pauls are responsible for so much mindless vandalism of vintage guitars. Makes me want to chuck the computer out the window every time I see a picture of some 'conversion' where they've bunged a maple top on a 52 Goldtop or something. Boomers thinking 'oLd tOnEwOoD' is the secret ingredient to them waking up as Eric Clapton tomorrow morning :fp:

Binding appears to have the nubs for the frets, so unoriginal binding.
