NGD: 1967 Jaguar CAR
I had been eyeing this Jaguar for a few months (after missing out on a very similar Jazzmaster), but finally pulled the trigger on Monday and it arrived in the UK today.
First impressions: really love the color on this one, very warm, with the gold undercoat showing through in the worn areas. Neck is slimmer than my '64 Jazzmaster, but feels like a good match for the shorter scale. Neck stamp is 15DEC67B ('67 models seem to be fairly uncommon?). Here's a picture together with the Jazzmaster:

Wow, that Jag looks all kinds of awesome (and so does the JM!). As far as I know 67 Jags are fairly rare, as they cranked up production quite a bit in 65-66 and they weren't selling as fast in subsequent years.
My late 66 Jazzmaster also has a pretty narrow and slim neck, like some other offsets of the same period I tried. I guess it was a thing (or a woodworker) in 66-67?
In any case, happy NGD, that CAR looks so clean!

Lovely, very nice color on a CAR from that era. Often times you can’t find them this nice after ‘65 as they started to crank them out and the custom paint jobs suffered in quality.
Nice-looking piece of rosewood on there as well!
Congrats!

Okay... That is choice! I’m always a bit jealous of vintage B&B—not the newer, skinny blocks they turn out nowadays. Those are perfect. Beautiful color. Looks in great shape. Congratulations on scoring that find!
Isn’t Sunburst a guarantee it’s NOT a refin?

There's a late 65/early 66 CAR jag for sale on Dalston lane, North London as it happens. It's much darker than yours.
Congrats!! Very cool.
I suspect that 67s are almost exclusively special orders. There doesn't seem to have been a serious run of them, like there was between august 65 and September 66.

What a beaut! Is it still nitro at that point?
Can't get enough of B&B offsets. Glorious.

Love it! The finish is in incredibly good shape. Glad your '64 JM found a Fullerton friend.

Re: NGD: 1967 Jaguar CAR
Thanks all!
I was thinking how I've really come full circle with this one. Must have been about 20 years ago that I bought my first offset, a sunburst CIJ Jaguar. That one quickly became my backup guitar when I got my AVRI Jazzmaster, which was obviously higher quality and worked much better for the music I played, sounding less thin and being less susceptible to feedback. But then I sold both of them when I got hooked to the sound of the '70s wide range humbuckers and ended up buying a bunch of vintage telecasters. And while I always planned to buy a '60s Jazzmaster some day, I wasn't really expecting to ever want a Jaguar again so badly. But they're really such nice guitars in their own right, so different and unique.

Idk how you dudes can afford these things. Sweet guitars though.
I shoulda bought a vintage offset 8 or so years ago when you could still grab one for a couple grand. Totally out of my reach now, even sunburst ones are approaching $6,000

That second picture shows just how different a colour can look under certain light, and even photographed at different angles.
This is the only shade of red I like on a Fender. Congratulations!
