Hi all,
I love Fender mustang guitar (the ones dated 64-67) and i have a project to purchase one. One from 65 is available and looks interesting and the seller says everuthing is all originals even the case. The stuff is the HSC is not grey/black as all OHSC i''ve seen from this period but in alligator skin. Does someone knows if such HSC was available from Fender in 65-66 ? Did fender produce at this time such HSC ?
Many thanks in advance for your help.

I've never seen a Mustang HSC that wasn't the normal silver/grey tweed looking material.

Based on description alone, I would guess the alligator skin case is from a short scale Mosrite (for example, a Ventures II model).

Both the Fender and Mosrite cases were made by the same case company (Victoria Luggage, which morphed into G&G in Los Angeles, which is still in business today).

Thanks for your help,
The guitar mentioned and the HSC is on this link https://reverb.com/fr/item/2810115-1965 ... aphne-blue

It shows clearly the brown alligator case and mention is OHSC.

Holy shit, that is a full 50% more expensive than what I asked for my '65 Mustang I sold a month ago in its original case, which I felt was capitalizing on a peak in the market (and is why I sold locally and didn't list on OSG, didn't want to price gouge my fellow members).

Please don't pay that price.
