Sakai '69 Mustang

For sale ad

Check out this chonker. I especially like the giant non-matching, sore thumb of a trem arm knob.
Reminds me of that botched Jesus fresco:

Could be interesting for those who can't quite afford Highnumbers' '69 Stang.
At least this one's Kurt™ vibes won't overwhelm you.

I had one very similar to this Sakai guitar back in the mid 90s. It didn't have the stripes but it had a gold CBS records logo on the headstock. Very strange. In fact there's a body for one for sale on ebay at the moment.

If you look at the video for "Don't Change" by INXS, you'll see one getting abused by one of Farriss brothers.

That carpet was really something, wasn't it?

I also found one by chance hanging on the wall at the Sandstone Point Hotel a few years back.

They turn up from time to time over here in Japan but I haven't felt the need to get one again.

Here's a pic of the headstock which was very kindly sent to me from the seller.

Cool! Thanks for the info. That carpet was indeed something else. Do you remember if it sounded like anything?

The carpet? Well it was rather soft and spongey, so it was rather quiet when I walked on it. :freako:

I honestly can't remember much about that guitar. I know the body was light and the neck a little clubby but I totally forget what it sounded like. Sorry.
