Hi,

Just got this beautiful made in Japan Aria Diamond 1802t from 1971 in a trade .
It was refinished in electric blue with stripes.
It’s a joy to play and I love how it sounds .
Happy happy .

Great looking guitar! Love the refin. I’ve always been curious about the pickups in these guitars. They seem to have adjustable pole pieces like a P90.

Enjoy that trem. Easily one of the greatest designs ever made. I know it’s basically a copy of a JM style trem, but these have a slightly looser feel that is really enjoyable.

That refin is amazing! Is that an Apollo 9 sticker on the headstock?

They sound really good in my opinion. Definitely amongst my favorite pickups . A bit boomy, so wire up a strangle switch and you're golden.

John McGeoch's first guitar was one of those in sunburst. He played it on the early Magazine records before moving on to Yamaha SG1000s.
Good find.

There's a cherry burst one of these, branded as a Granada, in my local shop for £399, It has slightly different pickups. It plays great and every time I'm there I nearly buy it

I've seen it listed as an Aria 1532T (or did he play both?).

Beautiful instrument! Yours looks to be in great condition and that refin looks cleeeeean. I found out about these guitars because of the Cobain connection (I think the absolute peak of his live sound was the 2/14/90 San Francisco show, which was an 1802t into a DS-1 into some kind of Randall head), then realized Justin from Unwound used one too. I'd love to track one down for myself someday, or at least retrofit the pickups into something else.

I've got one of these - those pickups are great. It's like they had one last go at improving the 1802T/ET270 before production stopped and they nailed it. I think Granada was a Canadian brand/importer.
