14.995,00 € for a unicorn https://guitarpoint.de/product/1968-fen ... -cap-neck/

Nice to see quality detail pics of one! I'm not the biggest fan of the meatball tort, I think black pickguard would look better!

I waited all this time for a ‘68 JM, and then someone goes and puts a CBS headstock on it :fp:
I have nothing to offer anybody, except my own confusion?

Perfect! :?

For a CBS Jazzmaster the price is insane, but for this particular specimen...not so much, I suppose.

That's a heartburn-inducing price, but what a beauty. Wow.

Oh, guitarpoint... insane prices as always...
Rare Jazzmaster indeed.
3,55 kg! Good.

What about the sound / Pickups of those 68´s?
It starts... when it begins.

It's so tricky when you get to the truly weird/rare stuff. Maple BB&B in that kind of condition in '68 is absurdly rare. It's basically Songbirds Museum material. All it takes is one super motivated buyer and you've set the price for the market.

Who knows if they'll find that buyer though. I won't lie, if money had no meaning to me, I'd buy that in a second. It's amazing, and there are certainly people in the world who could drop that money without blinking. I worked with a guy who spent $40k per race weekend just on tires for his stock car he raced.

In the real world where you have to ask yourself what other guitars you could buy for that money, it doesn't make sense, but it just takes that one right buyer.

The price they are asking is a complete nonsense. I don´t understand why some people are trying to sell those guitars 3 or maybe almost times higher than the actual value is.

I think there was one on reverb in the UK recently for £4k? Maybe it was this one?

Edit:
Yup, ATB Guitars, £4295. But that was a 1972.

So over in Houston there's a fucking BLACK '66 jeezum! I would die to play that fucker. Looks like a big non-matching headstock. I wonder if this is an early factory refin?

I prefere the dots, pre cbs design and sound. For some reason, I think pickups, the earlier sixties have more resonance. On the other hand the later 60's and seventies have more thickness of tone. Maybe it is also because the body was made of more pieces of wood. Just my opinion what I saw in yt videos.
