The most basic of basic questions

Hi all

I know this is a super basic question, so apologies. In short, can I store my guitar lying down?

I've always had it in its hard case propped upright against the wall, however after a re-jig at home there's nowhere suitable to do this anymore. Added to that, the case lining is so worn, the guitar is loose around headstock so doesn't stay tight in the case anyway.

If I lay it down on its back in the case, on top of a desk so it's not on the floor and nothing gets put on top of it....I'm fine yeah?
