Solid Body Fender Starcaster.
I just acquired a very old Fender Starcaster. Weird thing is it's a solid body. Not an expensive guitar by any means. I would like to get more acquainted with this one as I know nothing about it. Anyone out here able to help me out? Thanks folks!!

The only solidbody Starcaster-badged guitar I know apart from the new Squier Contemporary is the old Strat shaped one that was a student guitar
Pictures would help

Welcome to OSG! Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with our forum rules, and here’s a thread on how to post pics.
The cool thing about fretless is you can hit a note...and then renegotiate.

Intriguing! Can't wait to see pictures.
If it's how I imagine it (which I'm sure it isn't) it must weigh a fucking ton!!

Is it one of these?

This is a ‘Starcaster by Fender’ brand Strat. Ie Starcaster is the brand name used at the time. I believe these were made in the early 2000’s in the far east as cheap beginner electrics sold in toy shops and department stores.

I’ve no idea why they chose the name Starcaster for these.

quite often the reason is that the cheapest product have a lower profit margin for a corporation.superficial wrote: ↑Sat Jun 03, 2023 1:28 pm

a guitar like this student/bottom entry product does not warrant the cost of registering a new trademark, logo, branding, etc.
so, they use a name that they already have the legal rights and trademark for, especiaaly if it's been out of production and largely
forgotten. such was the sad fate, for a time, of the once-regal Starcaster model.

There's a R&D solid body Starcaster out there.

I bet this'll just be a Strat though

We'll never find out the mystery of the solid starcaster.
Was it a lost gem? A cheap import? The mystery lives on!
