Can’t tell if the post is meant to be tongue-in-cheek or not. Much like the Yardbirds, John Mayall’s band was a bit of a farm team for musicians who would later become big in their own right. So while I can understand not having heard of John Mayall, you are probably familiar with Eric Clapton and Jack Bruce (Cream); Peter Green, John McVie & Mick Fleetwood (Fleetwood Mac); Mick Taylor (Rolling Stones), etc. If you ever see a Marshall Bluesbreaker amp, a Bluesbreaker pedal, or any other gear with that name, it’s usually referring to the sound from Mayall’s “Beano” album. The Fender Bassbreaker amps are also a reference (Bassman + Bluesbreaker).
Anyway, apologies for the long-winded paragraph here, and I’ll feel really stupid if you intended your post to be tongue-in-cheek.

I do too in a weird way. Would love to just hold it and look it over.
My post wasn’t tongue-in-cheek at all.

Something about that thing says… Yeah. Just yeah.
Isn’t Sunburst a guarantee it’s NOT a refin?

Just a plank of wood and some strings is all you need.
Steinberger probably took a look at that and thought “You know, don’t really need that headstock either.”

Mayall had a bad habit of doing that. He did it to a couple of strats too.

He'd been using cut down guitars since before the Shorty, he was playing guitars like this in the sixties. He apparently liked decorating them too.
Interestingly he started using cut down Squier Affinity/Bullet Strats eventually.

Do you mean the thread about finish flaws on the Squier CV sparkle FSR? Yep, that's gone for some reasons.
