Geographic concentration of offsets in the 50s and 60s....
I remember reading on the old forum (FDP) that there were loads in the Maine area....
any other areas/places that were offset hotbeds back in the day?

I would have guessed California as well. It would be interesting to see shipping totals - my totally unscientific guess would be that there are more "under the bed" offsets in states like Maine, and more that have been circulated/altered/destroyed in the bigger states like NY and CA - but I am just speculating.
I'm a reasonable man get off my case...

Apparently in NL there's a concentration in the The Hague area. That's where they had the largest Indo-rock scene.

Hey LaLa!
Why should there be more "under the bed" examples on some states than others?
Cheers

I thought Deventer had the indo-scene.. and the concentration of offsets in the Hague might be due to that terrible store with the ugly website that sells vintage guitars at ridiculous prices, they're buying all the good ones. I forgot the name, but they were very proud the singer from Kane (godawful dutch band) bought a guitar there, which illustrates how terrible they are.Orang Goreng wrote: Apparently in NL there's a concentration in the The Hague area. Yes, let's not mention Kane here again.

Here in the Province of Quebec, there is a place called Sherbrooke, from where many pop bands originated in the 1960's... They were very popular in the area and most of them used Jaguars and Jazzmasters, so the kids all wanted guitars like them... The results were clearly visible in the early 1990's when I travelled there often: pawn shops all over that town had Mustangs, Jaguars and Jazzmasters hanging on their walls... I now regret not buying a couple of them back then as they were very cheap... But I already had two Jaguars and was still a teenager!
I wonder if there are still good deals to made there....

I think that there were a lot of Jazzmasters and Jaguars hanging around Ireland in the 1960's, especially with the Showband scene that was going on around here at the time. Basically most of the showband pictures from that time have at least one jazz/jag in them.
