Anyone who'd pay more than about $10 for a neck-plate has more money than sense.ChrisFFTA wrote:... thoughts?

Re: The market for relic'ed parts?
looks legit to me....If I had a vintage project comprised of rusty parts and needed this year plate, I'd offer him $35-50 tops. Never seen bubbling chrome like that though...

Looks suspicious to me. If the market is there, then people will create the product.

Re: The market for relic'ed parts?
The price for these plates, when they're legit, are often ridiculous, but it's what people are paying. The market isn't what it used to be. I paid what I consider a lot for a plate recently, but it was exactly what I wanted (with the original screws) and I didn't want to keep waiting or go with a fake. Honestly, the plate might be easy to fake, but like any other dating material on your guitar (pots, neck dates, body dates, etc), it's an important factor for the legacy of the instrument.
