I was given a 60's Jazzmaster in pieces, body stripped and refinished in a black stain that had turned green. I put it back together and usd it for a while like that, but I hated the bridge pickup. Then someone gave me a DiMarzio SDHP, which I put it in the bridge position, and loved it. Then, I found a Gibson creme colored P90 on clearance (brand new)for $15. I chiseled out the block of wood between the two pickup routs, and mounted the P90 in the middle position. I used a blend pot between it and the bridge pickup. That was one smokin' guitar! I ended up selling it to a guy who said he wanted to restore it, but I saw it a few months later hanging in a music store. I still kinda mis it...

Man's inhumanity to guitars

. I am in the process of getting a stripped '64 body up and running. I don't have a vintage neck, so I am going to use an AVRI. It's going to be black with an anodized guard. I just want to do my part to give poor, broken-down, old Jazzmasters a good home.

Hey! I think I bought a few guitars from this dude!
BTW - A screwdriver works too, if you use a big enough hammer...

Unfortunately, I've owned a few of his pieces too

I could almost not feel too badly about having a nice machine made route under a guard, but a chewed up, gouged out one always bothers me.

This isn’t some kind of metaphor
Goddamn this is real

the thing that kinda pisses me off witht he particular story, is that he destroyed the guitar, and then sold it.
if someone said to me "hey man, I love this guitar, I wanna mod it to this so I will play it until the day I die" I'd be more understanding.
but to ruin a perfectly good guitar and then selling it off!
