Somebody pulled everything from this guitar, endpin, saddle and nut, machines, even frets and zerofret, damaging the fretboard. (which got me interested in the first place because of unusual "skunk stripe" inlays. If I ever hit the mods/building page, it will show up there)
What a waste, it's been a real nice neck! Back is distinctly arched and rather fine bookmatched maple, but it is split, what must have caused this mess. Am salvaging this as well.

Anyone ever seen another AOU (or is it a cyrillic DOU)?

This (heel) happens frequently while steaming óut a neck, and isn't a big deal. Gotta make things worse before making them better, as Jerry Rose says. (bridge plate off course is another story; I suppose it isn't a Hauser or Torres?)
I tossed one of those over the fence behind Spirit of Newfoundland dinner theater on Cathedral, after we screeched in Bourdain. RIP He was a good man. We told him forget those big fakes out there n stay here. He said it sounded fantastic. Fucking cleaners... Never trust municipal city hallers.
Never gave a damn bout the meter man, til I had to read the meter, man.

Ich weiß.
Erst die Monotonie von dem Ganzen bringt die Leute zum Tanzen.

"next week, I'm going to steam out the neck of my beloved Yamaha" (that I got at a shop called "Himmelreich") Been thinking that for 15 years.
Pop is the most wonderful music – as long as it's played with three basses, a string section, and two french horns going "Vroop-Vrooo".

Shit happens. Don't think someone did this on purpose. Must've been in the water or something and it separated. Bummer. It's cool but way too expensive!🥺

...plus Mosrite quality control wasn't always the best. It probably got wet or was around a lot of changes in temperature over the years. Too bad the missing chunk isn't in the case!

Use a time machine to prevent this.

The trend for cyberpunk steampunk whatever the hell that is can get in the sea. Guitars don't have cogs, pistons, wheels, flux capacitors or any of that shit to function so what's the point of adding it?

I mean, that is so obviously a Back to the Future-guitar made on a cheap mod platform that I'd imagine it was used for like a Halloween-gig along with a Marty McFly or Doc Brown-costume, and it's only being sold on either because the joke is now played out or to upgrade to something with a Floyd that does the Van Halen-thing better.

:fp: Hmmm... I understand the novelty. I would love to have it, I would love to make it, I would hate to buy it.
I definitely have a few "themed" guitars in my mind and I guess being vintage correct or replicating an artist's guitar is just as nerdy as building something like this.

As a "prop" I like it a lot. It actually looks convincing. And I can easily see a band playing at a comicon type event playing it.
But as a guitar it's probably not that good and the parts... probably consist of €50 at a thrift shop and a €100,- squier. So it seems like the price reflects the time spent on this monster. But it's hard to sell "time" on a item no-one asks for. I work in film and it even seems high for the time a propmaker would've put into this. Aanddd I do feel that as soon as a guitar as this gets sold it ends up in that strat/tele nightmare that is being sold by the brand vintage. A guitar like this is cool if you made it, not if you bought it.

That one doesn't really deserve to be in this thread, imo. Like the style or not, it was really well done. It's just a Squier too, so who cares anyway?

Nah this is the most out of place post for this thread we’ve had yet. It’s beautiful Ricky

Ha! I used to work as a propmaker, so I appreciated that this doesn't look like it was stuck together with hot glue while a director was yelling at the propmaker to hurry up.
