I don't hate it either, but I wonder whether it intonates correctly, what with the Starcaster's idiosyncratic neck heel thing.

The heel on a Starcaster neck is just the same as any 70s 3-bolt strat or tele deluxe. So the same shape as any other Fender electric but with one less bolt.

The neck on the Starcaster is ever so slightly longer than other Fender necks. This is because it has 22 frets with no fretboard overhang, so that while the heel is the same as any other Fender Strat or JM neck, putting a Starcaster neck on either if those bodies makes the distance between bridge and nut a critical tiny bit longer than 25,5". The re-issues replicates this for some reason, making other Fender necks just so incompatible with all Starcaster bodies and vice versa.

I solved that issue with a piece of scrap pickguard and about an hour with basic hand tools:

I stand corrected! Thank you for that information, I had just looked at my guitars side by side and saw no difference but never thought about there being 22 frets and not fretboard extension :fp:

Can I also just post random dickheads’ attempts at ripoffs in here? Surprised there isn’t a dedicated thread for that because it’s so common.

Anyway this piece of shit has this on reverb

For $2,600

Novak JM pickups so, cool? But no fucking clue how somebody could be enough of a cretin to think that adds $2,000 in value to a guitar someone could buy brand new for $600

This doesn't really fit in here I guess, but I had to share it somewhere. I follow Mark Hoppus from Blink-182 on Instagram and he just posted this:

I have to say, I never expected to see a Robert Smith tribute JM with an Evertune bridge.
