honestly, it's savable in a weird way..... but god damn what is with van halen fans doing that finish to everything that enters their life?

To be fair, this is one of the better looking EVH finishes I've seen. It's more competently done than the original and still looks homemade in a cool way, production guitars with the stripes are almost always lame.
But then again, why hack it for a strat trem and not go the whole mile with a Floyd?

Has this one been posted? And, yeah, I don't hate that one EVH body up there for some reason... :fp:

The guitar/body is pretty cool though.
yeah. i keep an eye on his ebay store because he's often got cool stuff but his prices are mental. £70 for a single starcaster knob? tha fuck?

honestly, if i lived anywhere near him, i'd try getting in his good books and getting him to try making deals
I also keep an eye on this. But it's tooo fucking overpriced...

How will it sound? Very "acoustic" probably. Those PUs are extremely microphonic. Their coil is, well, a loose coil wrapped in tape and the casing is made of magnetic steel, which (please school me on that) may add to the microphony.
Pop is the most wonderful music – as long as it's played with three basses, a string section, and two french horns going "Vroop-Vrooo".

Somebody pulled everything from this guitar, endpin, saddle and nut, machines, even frets and zerofret, damaging the fretboard. (which got me interested in the first place because of unusual "skunk stripe" inlays. If I ever hit the mods/building page, it will show up there)
What a waste, it's been a real nice neck! Back is distinctly arched and rather fine bookmatched maple, but it is split, what must have caused this mess. Am salvaging this as well.

Anyone ever seen another AOU (or is it a cyrillic DOU)?

This (heel) happens frequently while steaming óut a neck, and isn't a big deal. Gotta make things worse before making them better, as Jerry Rose says. (bridge plate off course is another story; I suppose it isn't a Hauser or Torres?)

^^ Gaaaah!!!! ^^

I don't normally wince when I see stuff like this but I did this time! Man, that things in a bad way!!

These Yamaha's normally have such graceful lines & contours. What the fuck!!!????
And who knew banana yellow would look like utter dog shit against natural wood (me).
