NGD#2: 70s Ibanez Jazzmaster (the MBV one)
Well yes, i guess that was my last NGD in Mexico, it's been a blast these last 16 years, but i really have to stop now.
These, i've seen 'em come and go, and i never even bothered... and then i found out about the MBV connection and, well, old japanese guitars are just cool.
I was gonna buy this a couple months ago for under $100, but i was a few mins too late and lost it to another buyer, oh well.
So now last week i found out that the guy who had bought it was a friend of a friend, yada yada yada.
I paid a bit more because the buyer had it completely re-fretted and set up - and MAN it shows cuz it feels and plays REAL nice!
I was a bit worried about the neck being too baseball bat, cuz a previous user here had had one and sold it cuz of that. But i find this really comfty.
Now all i gotta do is install a trem arm and "collet" or whatcha call it. I do also have an original 60s tailpiece laying around here, so maybe i'll just put in that one.
Gonna take it to rehearsal on friday, and maybe i'll even use it on my farewell gig from the band. Stay tuned!
Anyways, a nice cheap catch to tip my hat off to Mexico - GRACIAS for all the great deals i've had the joy of having and finding here!
I'LL BE BACK!

Cool! I'd be very keen to know how those pickups are- I have a pair (+ bridge, trem, tuners and pg) that I got from a guy who'd swapped them out of a guitar like yours for Fender hardware and WRHBs). Tonz report please, and all the best on your move!

How do these pickups sound compared to a Jazzmaster?

Re: NGD#2: 70s Ibanez Jazzmaster (the MBV one)
so i put a 60s Fender tailpiece on it, hydrated the neck, and took 'er to band rehearsal yesterday.
SHE'S A KEEPER.
This this has the most amazing feedback power in it, it's incredible. NO squealing and nasty noises whatsoever.
Yes it's heavier than a "normal" Jazz, and it's somehow a completely different beast. But this will be my main guitar at my farewell gig in 2 weeks.
BIG TIME WIN!!!

I know this 8 years later would you say it is worth it for $370USD, ($500 CAD)? I stumbled upon one recently
