Well, you certainly don't see that everyday! Strangely attractive somehow.

Everything about this guitar was just so wonderfully wrong, from the Leo Quan Badass Bridge, to the CTS phaser modded pot down to the vintage Gibson Firebird / Explorer case I knew I had to add it to the collection. Now imagine my surprise when I popped off the pickguard… One CTS pot is a 1977 & the other 1980 so dating it era specific is still rather troublesome. That home made P90 is awesome as it is wrong. Franken-Jazzy is currently in the shop getting drilled to have the original bridge put back on, hopefully will be back in my hands sometime this week. I'm still at a loss of what kind of neck to throw on it, either a traditional maple on rosewood with a vintage tint or I'm thinking Padauk on Ebony, 22 frets. I'm accustom to a Jag. :wtf:

How about a weird Warmoth dark wood neck, like one of these:

Almost a decade later & nobody still has the slightest clue as to what kind of neck / headstock this is.
Definitely an early 60s CAR Jazzmaster by the remaining paint chips in the trem cavity.
Is there any way to narrow down thee exact age / era?
I'd love to determine the exact timeline.

I still have the guitar. It's amazing and sounds better than any of my vintage pieces. Haven't gotten around to replacing the neck. Definitely won't go with vintage as the costs are even more bonkers when I was looking at necks yeeeears ago. Would one of those modern Fender 22 fret Jazzmaster necks work on this guitar with the adequate shims? Or would it be a safer bet for a Warmoth neck?

More pics would be a start! Those old ones are either missing, or watermarked and murky.

So cool.

That headstock reminds me of an Ibanez Musician, however there are some differences. Can you post some better pictures? Deffo one of the coolest JMs on the internet :)

Reminds me of this old jaguar that someone got on marketplace a few weeks ago. Pretty cool.
