Here's how the pickguard looked after using the Meguiar's stuff...
It didn't take all that long at all.

It will polish up quickly, but you'll be able to see cuts and swirls from the rougher grits. I wet sand up to 2000 grit and then use a swirl remover and polish like suggested above. I soft foam 6" buffing/polishing pad for automotive and a regular drill makes quick work of the polishing.
