Yeah, that makes sense. I don't know a lot about the history of mine, but I know it was gigged and used in session recordings heavily, so things like the sticker on the back have long gone. I know the one you mean though.PorkyPrimeCut wrote: ↑Thu Apr 08, 2021 4:38 amSo, your serial number - 375058 - is after mine - 356512 - and before Pat's - 406899.
I'm not sure how accurate these numbers are & this could easily be a case, like Fender, of the plates being mass-produced & picked out of a bucket, when needed. Mine's missing but I see most of these Italian made Vox guitars have the model name printed on a sticker that's affixed to the neck plate.
I'll ask about the different neck construction now...

Re: Vox Ultrasonic restoration - IT'S HERE!
Hi all!
Wondering if somebody could drop an ultrasonic pickguard template and some material recommendations or links to find a good pickguard material for an ultrasonic in need. I haven't got any to compare the colour so it would be great if someone could point me towards the right material sheets and template to cut it.
Thanks in advance gang!

Re: Vox Ultrasonic restoration - IT'S HERE!
I'm sure this has been posted on another thread in this forum, but I've just noticed the new Mastery M10.2 Archtop Bridge. I contacted John at Mastery Bridge to see if they can be used on my Vox Ultrasonic, and I'll keep you all posted about what he tells me. I've never had any problems with the current bridge, however I just thought these look interesting and I can't help but wonder if these could improve the guitar in a similar way to Jags and Jazzmasters e.g. no buzzing, no strings popping out of the saddles and improved sustain. To be fair the first two issues have never happened to my Ultrasonic, but improved sustain or resonance would be interesting. Out of interest, has anyone tried the M10.2 Archtop bridge yet?

"Yes, it should work with that guitar. Like all wood base bridges, you may need to fit the bottom. Our string spacing at the saddles is 52 mm. I recall one customer sending a photo of a vox I think with our M10.2.
Thanks, JW

Re: Vox Ultrasonic restoration - IT'S HERE!
I just checked my string spacing on the Ultrasonic and it's about 49mm, so the Mastery Bridge would be out for me. Oh well, I don't really have any issues with the stock one. Just thought I would update and let others know should you look at this bridge for Vox guitars made in Italy.
