The neck is a bit on the slimmer side but I don’t mind that at all. Feels nice in my hand.
I found out from the seller that the original finish was black. I guess it had been refin’ed once again in black, and then to the sunburst it has now. I was under the impression that the custom colors in the 60s all had matching headstocks (which this guitar does not have). Were there certain guitars produced in a custom color without a matching headstocks? I looked at the stamp at the heel of the neck and the inscription on the pots and those check out.

Upon digging into the history more with the seller, it doesn’t seem completely clear what the original color was. It sounds like the guitar may have had multiple refins in the past, so I wouldn’t be surprised if the original color finish was sunburst.
