Re: "PROJECT '65" Update! Pics!
Wow!
It really does look great Doug! I think you're gonna have a hard time stripping it and going with a different color when you find the right neck
Well done!
By the way, did those other thimbles make it down yet? I sent them a few days ago. I got your set yesterday.

Not yet.. but maybe tomorrow! Thanks again!did those other thimbles make it down yet?
Edit: Yeah... I might not change the color now! A 1964 neck (non-binding of course) just sold on the bay the other night for $687!!! It was refinished and refretted, but looked really good. I was watching it all week, but decided not to bid because I've been set on the binding. But now I'm wishing I had! It even was missing the logo... a guilt-free IBM headstock! I'm kicking myself...

Wow, that neck is really tempting, and a great price too!
I like B&B, but I just SO had my heart set on dots and binding. Besides that, the pots and pickguard on this one are actually '64. I thought I could get away with a one year stretch on the neck, but this B&B is a OVER a 2 year gap... it's almost a '67.
I have a feeling if I decide to go for it, I better be quick! :-\

I'd go dots & binding...I have a soft spot for them....it's a rarer look too
