I've got all the parts as I started with a whole guitar with a stripped finish.
DB wrote: ...OK, I swapped my sunburst '66 XII for another stripped '66 XII.  I had paid about $2300 US for the sunburst original, and got the stripped guitar for my original  plus $1200 cash (not bad, I think - it will cost about $350 for the refin so I'll be into the stripped/refin'd XII for about $1550.  I'm a player, not a collector, so the refin actually works better for me).

So that leaves me with a restoration project, basically a no-guilt mathicng-HS refin (headstock is stripped, no decal)...

I know it's not BLACK, but BMM is still cool.  ;)  I would have thought the BMM might be too cheerful for you though ;D

Now I've got to get around to cleaning up the tuners and bridge before the body and neck arrive.

Wow, the BLACK looks great against that orange plush lining.  I'm glad you were able to get the case shipped to the UK.

PICTURES ! ! !

Got the body and neck today.  They came out great.  Here's the pics (unfortunately just flash, since it is night here :(

Very hard color to photograph.  It looks brownish in the pics, even after some quick color editing.  It looks unbelievable in person, with a slightly more purple hue.  I'll post some outdoor pics when the time of day and weather cooperate.  We got 10 inches of snow here last Saturday night - bad for pics, great for skiing and snowboarding! ::)

I've already cleaned all the hardware, I just need to clean up the fingerboard and reassemble.  It will probably be a few days before I can spend the time.  I can't wait.
