Tort on custom colours is for me getting into middle aged man in loud manblouse with several buttons undone territory.
That's a great idea to match the looks of my Jazzmaster!
thanks for the tip!

For me there have been
very, very few occasions where tort on blue has worked. This is one...

Spent an hour of work time gawking at this thread. Now my boss wants me to "quit staring at pretty guitars and get back to it"

There are a few flaws in the body finish on that un-stumped Jazzmaster that are going to bother me, so I'll need to respray it when I get home. I was hoping to get the paint all done before I left so that the lacquer would be cured by the time I got home, but I just ran out of time.
I'm in Mexico for a few weeks, and I found a musical instrument market that Pat recommended a while back. I almost didn't find it and was close to giving up, but then I saw a guy with a Slash hat and Slash hair carrying a guitar case, and I tailed him to the market.
Here's some pictures to make Pat homesick:
(...it's a Squier Jazzmaster...)
This guy had a few interesting oddballs. Maybe that janky Jolana Star could fit in a suitcase as a souvenir?

Um... I think you need to turn that one into a proper Jazzmaster too right?

The pickups would suggest a Mustang...

Wow that Egmond is far away from home!
Not much of those were exported outside of the EU as I recall, cool to see it on a market in Mexico.

Damn, talk about impressive. Great job you're doing Will, I didn't think it was possible when I first saw it in the "why did you do this to me" thread. Can't wait to see the final outcome!

OH SHIT MAN SORRY I FORGOT TO REPLY TO YOUR PM!!!
Ha the market still looks the same. I remember it from 1999 there were refin Jags and Jazzers for 5000 pesos, blackface Fender heads and Mustangs for 2000-3000 ... good times.
Again sorry...

Btw that's an ancient Ibanez Bizarre behind the Egmond.
And you will ALWAYS find some ShinEi pedals there!!!

Yeah - I was considering the two pedals under the Jolana (one of them was WOW-WOW!) but they both looked like they were missing parts that would be tough to track down.
The Ibanez had a weird trem setup - looked sorta Yamaha SG sorta Teisco Spectrum.

wow, seeing jolana Star IX in this condition IN MEXICO?
) huh - those were exported only to "socialist countries" back then (they are quite common in former USSR countries for example), some went probably to Cuba. but yeah, it would make a killer mustang project
anyway, I'm amazed how you managed to salvage a hacked up body like that. What a story !
