Good observation! You're right! My own 1965 is much more warped, and it is still very usable... I wouldn't even try and flatten it out more, jazzheadmark. It looks just fine as it is!mynameisjonas wrote: BTW, that guard looks almost totally flat to me.

Thanks. My only gripe it that there's a tide line where the neck meets the body. It looks like the body it came from was a different shape!! Does that fit with 59 to 60 JM's?.....
Anyway of cleaning it up or matching the relicing?? Its a very minor issue really.

The pictures actually make it seem better. Again, a minor issue though I guess!

Wow. Congratulations. I don't think I've seen all the before pictures, but I sure like the after pictures!

The tanline on the neck from the other body:
This is pretty common when changing necks. Although theoretically the bodies should be the same, there's almost always a small difference.
Some of it can be attributed to age and different properties of wood, shrinkage*, etc. And some of it has to do with the way the neck was shimmed in the pocket. Do you have a shim in there?
I always try to rub off the line with rubbing compound and then polish the area. It can usually be minimized if not removed entirely.
Your JM looks GREAT!

Wow... Those are big screws holding the rythm circuit switch!! ???
As for the pickguard, your last pictures show the warping pretty well, but still, it doesn't look that bad.
