Fender Neck Codes

For whatever reason, this isn't included on that incredibly informative Vintage site that's out there with all of the Fender/Gibby/etc. models.  I know most of these from my own observations, but there are some gaps-anyone know what some of the other missing neck codes are (like BassV, the Coronados, etc)?

3/4-Musicmaster/other 3/4 scales(?)
1-Jaguar
2-Stratocaster
3-Telecaster
4-Jazzmaster
5-Precision Bass
6-Bass VI
7-Jazz Bass
8-Mustang/Musicmaster II
9-Duosonic (? not 100%, but I thought this was right)
10-
11-
12-Fender XII
13-Jazzmaster/Stratocaster ('65-)
14-Coronado XII
15-Jaguar (66-)
16-Musicmaster II/Mustang/Bronco (24" scale-1966)
17-Mustang Bass
18-
19-
20-
21-
22-Stratocaster (think this is a later code number-diff headstock)

from the excellent Jim Shine website:

-----

1- Jaguar 1962-1965

2-Stratocaster 1962-1965

3-Telecaster

4-Jazzmaster 1962-1965

5-Precision Bass

6-Bass 6

7-Jazz Bass

8-Musicmaster II, Mustang, Duo-Sonic II 1964-1965 22 fret 24" scale model

9-Musicmaster II, Mustang, Duo-Sonic II 1964-1966 21 fret 22 3/4" scale Model also found on '69 Swinger "Arrow/Musiclander"

10*- Coronado 1 and 2 and some 1966 Jazzmaster and Stratocaster necks

11-Bass 5

12-Electric 12 and Maverick/Custom model

13- Stratocaster 1966-1968, many 1966 Jazzmaster's too

14-Coronado 12

15-Jaguar 1966-1972

16-Musicmaster II, Mustang, Duo sonic II, and Bronco

17-Mustang Bass and MusicMaster Bass

18-Coronado Bass

19-Jazzmaster and Coronado 2

22- Stratocaster 1968-1972

23-Telecaster Bass

27-Villiager 12

28- Shenandoah 12

3/4- Musicmaster and Duo Sonic 21 fret small headstock first version 1962-early 1964

* Fender Jazzmaster and Stratocaster necks that have these codes have the appropriate full CBS headstock shape. If you see one of these with a Coronado headstock shape, small Strat headstock shape, or weird hybrid of old small and large headstock shapes, it is a reworked Coronado neck.

I think there's a typo - the late 50s and early 60s "student" models (DuoSonic, Musicmasters) were 22.5" scale, not 22.75".

I know this hasn't been posted in for years, but I want to say that these are super helpful.

Thanks very much for the replies. Super helpful.

I am in a somewhat "heated" discussion on Facebook with a guy who claims that the stamped neck code numbers, as shown above, are actually the date of the month that the neck was made. Example: 2 SEP65B to him means the neck was made on the 2nd of Sept, 1965. As Jim Shine points out, this is a common misconception. He claims to have neck code numbers up to 29 so now he's missing just 30 and 31 to "prove" his theory!

If you want to check out how this little feud is progressing, I think you might have to be a member of the "Fender Vintage Guitars" Facebook group, which is a closed group.

Thanks again for your help!

Anyone know how long or what months the JM's & Strats shared the same neck code?

If I’m not wrong, 14 is the code for the Coronado XII
